The garden is run by an all volunteer staff. People from our community just like you. The garden can only provide produce if we have adequate help to manage the garden all summer.
I know, everyone has commitments and time is not something you have a lot of . There are many ways you can help.
Check out our wish list. Maybe you can provide something on the list.
Provide a monetary donation to support the garden. Your funds will help to purchase plants, seeds, equipment, etc.
Volunteer at the garden. This does not have to be a time consuming commitment. When the garden is set up properly in the spring, it then becomes a matter of checking on it, weeding as needed, harvesting, and other tasks. Our goal is to minimize the amount of time each volunteer needs to spend at the garden. We break down the entire operation into smaller tasks. One person or a family can take care of one row of tomatoes for example. Another family or maybe a scout group can take care of the cucumbers. Any of these tasks would only require a quick visit to the garden each week to keep things in shape. With many volunteers doing a little bit, we are able to provide produce to many families in need.
Please contact us to volunteer this summer. Individuals, families, church groups, youth groups, scouts, we will find something for you to do that fits your skill level and time available.
